The year to come
December 29th, 2007Pictures from a crazy day at the cemetery
December 29th, 2007My friend Jody and I were early for an art opening so we went to the cemetery down the street for a few photo opportunities. We ended up getting locked into the cemetery (even though the guy that locked the gates knew we were in there-luckily we were both thin enough the squeeze through the gate) and my camera batteries died even though they were freshly charged. I ended up getting some great photos before my camera died!
NYC- The Guggenheim and MoMa
November 21st, 2007This weekend I was in NYC to see the Seurat exhibit which was absolutely amazing. I had always been a fan of his paintings and his drawings are just as amazing! His use of black and lack of detail to create something that has such an atmosphere was absolutely amazing. I had not been to the MoMA since they had done their remodeling and the museum is quite amazing. Picasso was well represented as well as Monet and Mondrian. I was kinda bummed that I didn’t see any work from Romare Bearden.
I was quite upset that I was heading to the Jewish Museum to see the Pissaro exhibit on a Friday which is when they are closed! In a way it was a blessing in disguise because I paid the Guggenheim my first visit. In the past I tend to be museumed out by the time I hit the Guggenheim. I was extremely happy that I went. There were some pretty awesome dada collages and picasso’s, renoir’s and many more.
I left the city (i had quite a hard time doing so w/ trains being delayed and what not-it was like I was in a bad late for the airport movie) and landed in Pittsburgh during a Steeler’s game much more motivated. I’m feeling that my ‘59 caddy painting will near completion soon.

I said I would never blog again…
April 7th, 2007I was once given a class asignment where I had to maintain a current blog. Once that class was over I swore off of blogging; however, I think trying to get my art site up and running and keeping a blog for it won’t be as painful!
